The Society of the Friends of the Leipzig Gewandhaus was founded 17 years ago. I have been its President since then and am proud to be able to support the Gewandhaus Orchestra together with our more than 530 members. It is the oldest municipal concert orchestra in the world and one of the best internationally.
Dear American Friends of the Gewandhaus Orchestra, I wish you just as much success, pleasure, and pride in your support of this marvelous orchestra.
