Schumann Corner
The third level, also called the Gallery Foyer, is designed as a circular gallery. With an area of approximately 1,200 square metres, it can be used for a variety of functions, such as exhibitions. The Schumann Corner is part of the Gallery Foyer and takes its name from the statue of Robert Schumann displayed there.The approximately 130-square-metre Schumann Corner can accommodate musical programmes, lectures, press conferences, seminars and other speaking events. The space offers flexible arrangement of chairs, depending on the requirements of the particular event. Sound support is provided by mobile equipment connected to the house studios.
The Schumann Corner offers space and logistical requirements for receptions and interval refreshments for events in the Great Hall and Mendelssohn Hall. The Gewandhaus terraces may be used as well.
The third level also houses the conference room, a separate space of approximately 40 square metres. It is suitable for meetings and lectures and can be darkened, making it ideal for video and slide presentations. Its accessibility within the building makes it a convenient location for an organisational office, and sound equipment can be provided.
The Chorus Hall is a self-contained space of approximately 85 square metres which is also reached from the third level. It is air-conditioned and is suitable as a seminar or conference room. It contains a grand piano, and tables and chairs can be arranged flexibly. Sound support is provided by mobile equipment connected to the house studios.
